Sports Equip Attendant
About the role
This position is located at the UNM Gallup Branch in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque. UNM-Gallup is seeking motivated, customer-oriented individuals to serve as Sports Equipment Attendants within the Physical Education Complex. The facility supports sports and recreation through scheduled P.E. courses, open recreation hours, intramurals, and planned student activities. It includes an indoor basketball court, weight and cardio rooms, two outdoor fitness trails with various stations, showers, and locker rooms.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service
- Issue sports and/or recreational equipment
- Maintain inventory for new and used athletic supplies and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Assist with routine operations and facility reservations
- Ensure proper care in use of equipment
- Prepare facility for scheduled intramurals or other student activities
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
- Assist with student events and activities as necessary
American Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED Certification required within 30 days of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous face-to-face customer service experience
- At least 6 months previous experience working at a fitness/recreational facility or knowledge of fitness and athletic equipment and sports specifications
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members (must be shown through prior job experience as outlined in resume and/or cover letter)
- Demonstrated ability to multitask (must be shown through prior job experience as outlined in resume and/or cover letter)
