About the role
The Sports Education & Training Internship is designed for students interested in the development of curriculums, along with education and performance. Students will gain knowledge and experience in writing and editing age-appropriate coaching curriculums, evaluating coaching sessions, assisting with employee training, and more.Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced professional coaches and receive guidance from our Education Manager on coaching best practices, strategies, and methods.
- Plan and implement coaches training sessions and orientation events.
- Monitor coach performance to maintain high program standards.
- Complete the USA Sport Group “Safe Kids” seminar and other development sessions.
- Provide customer and coach support via the telephone and email.
- Record, track, and analyze coaching performance profiles.
- Track and cross-check attendance for trainings & sessions.
Requirements
- Attending an undergraduate or graduate program during the internship period.
- A love and passion for working with children of all ages in a sports setting.
- A solid understanding of the rules associated with various sports.
- Experience working with or coaching young children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable to diverse roles.
- Uphold company values and customer service standards.
- A friendly phone manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Qualifications
A solid understanding of the rules associated with various sports, experience working with or coaching young children, strong interpersonal and communication skills, organized with attention to detail, flexible and adaptable to diverse roles, and a friendly phone manner are required.Skills
