Sports Coach

About the role

Corpus Christi Catholic School is seeking coaches for various athletic teams for the current school year. The school participates in the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association (North and South divisions), with teams typically playing home and away games against division opponents, requiring some travel. Practices and games generally occur twice each per week beginning in late August. Parents are responsible for transporting student athletes to games. The program includes a developmental JV team and a competitive Varsity team, and no athletes are cut—every student who wishes to play can join the team.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Applitrack application via the Galveston‑Houston Arch‑Diocese website.
• Finish the online Safe Environment Training.
• Complete required annual trainings: Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid & Sudden Illness, AED & CPR, Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine, and Child Abuse & Neglect.
• Organize and conduct practices (approximately twice per week) and games (approximately twice per week) once the season starts in late August.
• Communicate with players and parents regarding schedules, expectations, and team policies.
• Foster a positive, Christian‑based environment for student athletes.

Requirements

• Coaching and/or playing experience in the sport.
• Solid knowledge of the game’s rules, strategies, and fundamentals.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to build good rapport with players and parents.
• Commitment to serving as a Christian role model for student athletes.

Pay

This is a stipend‑only position.

Schedule

• Season begins in late August.
• Typical commitment: practices twice per week and games twice per week.
• Some travel required for away games within the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association divisions.
