Sports Business Operations Intern

Job Summary

Soccer Stars is the leading youth soccer program for children ages 12 months to 13 years in Long Island and Eastern Queens. We provide an energetic, enjoyable, and age-suitable introduction to soccer through classes, camps, and clinics held in various locations. This internship offers hands-on experience in sports business operations and impacts a thriving youth sports organization.

Responsibilities

• New Business Development
• Support the development of partnerships and outreach programs
• Aid in creating strategies to attract new customers and expand program offerings
• Partnership Management
• Assist in managing relationships with existing partners
• Collaborate with the President and Partnerships Coordinator
• Coordinate with partners to ensure satisfaction and identify new collaboration opportunities
• Marketing Initiatives
• Collaborate on marketing campaigns to promote classes and events
• Manage social media accounts and create engaging content
• Market Research
• Identify trends and opportunities in the youth sports industry
• Conduct research on competitors to gather insights into their programs, pricing, and strategies
• Miscellaneous Tasks
• Aid with administrative and operational tasks

Requirements

• Strong interest in business, sports, youth development, and/or operations
• Self-starter with excellent research and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with partners, team members, coaches, and site staff
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Team player willing to help wherever needed for the success of the business
• Proficient in Google Workspace
• Willingness to travel locally for site visits (must have own transportation)
• Access to a working laptop
• Reliable and punctual
• Soccer experience is a plus but not required
