Job Summary
Join the Team Lead the team behind an unforgettable dining experience! As a Lead Cook, you will play a key leadership role in supporting daily kitchen operations while working alongside the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and promote Levy's Family Values: Nice, Innovative, Passionate, and Inclusive.
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, production guides, and Levy quality standards.
- Support daily kitchen operations on both the hot line and cold prep line.
- Delegate tasks and monitor daily production to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Partner with the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and fellow Lead Cooks to execute event menus successfully.
- Maintain food quality, portion control, presentation, and consistency throughout each event.
- Ensure all food is prepared, held, and served following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
- Assist with product rotation, labeling, storage, inventory, and waste reduction.
- Communicate effectively with culinary team members, managers, warehouse staff, and Front of House teams.
- Help train, coach, and support new culinary team members while fostering a positive team environment.
- Respond quickly to changing event needs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Follow all Levy, Delta Center, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support successful event execution.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous culinary or commercial kitchen experience is required.
- Previous leadership, trainer, or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP principles, and safe food-handling practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate others in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Comfortable working on both hot and cold production lines.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and willing to learn.
- Spanish and English communication skills are a plus.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, Utah Jazz games, Utah Mammoth games, concerts, and other Delta Center events.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Utah Food Handler Permit.
