Sports Anchor/Reporter

About the role

CBS Austin is seeking an experienced weekend sports anchor and reporter. The city is home to the Texas Longhorns, Austin FC, and Circuit of the Americas. The ideal candidate will bring new ideas to how we cover sports, sharing CBS Austin's vision of producing and reporting content that stands out as both informative and entertaining.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team in a high-energy, creative, and collaborative environment on deadline.
• Strong shooting, writing, and video editing skills are essential.
• Must be able to shoot and edit stories.
• Demonstrate knowledge of positioning great content on air and digital platforms.
• Willing to adjust schedule as needed based on content center needs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional on-camera experience.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere for broadcast and digital.
• Experience with Live-U operations.
• High-level organizational skills.

Skills

• Photography and video editing in Premiere (broadcast and digital).
• Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency.
• Likely to operate Live-U systems.
• Strong organizational skills.
