Sporting Goods Department Head

About the Role

As the Sporting Goods Department Head at Blain’s Farm & Fleet, you will deliver excellent customer service, manage stocking duties, and ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers. This role involves a variety of tasks to maintain the department’s efficiency and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves with back stock product and incoming freight
• Set and remove ad prices, ensuring pricing accuracy
• Maintain displays and face shelved products
• Implement planograms and adjust floor plans as needed
• Clean retail areas (dust mopping, trash removal, litter pickup)
• Use computers to track product delivery and inventory levels
• Return excess product to the warehouse
• Move empty pallets to the warehouse and break down containers
• Attach security tags to appropriate products
• Assist in other departments as assigned
• Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies

Requirements

• Great communication skills
• Prior retail experience preferred
• Able to work evenings when needed and at least every other weekend
• Able to pass a background check

Pay

Base pay up to $17.50 per hour, with a $2.50 per hour premium for Saturday and Sunday shifts. Compensation may vary based on experience and is contingent on job requirements and market conditions.
