Sporting Data Analyst (UWEP Internship, Fall 2026)

About the role

The United Soccer League (USL) is seeking a Sporting Data Analyst intern through the USL Work Experience Program (UWEP) for Fall 2026. This is an internship for college credit hours only, working remotely (USL is based in Tampa, FL).

Responsibilities

• Collect and maintain sporting data;
• Build Tableau dashboards to track team and player performance;
• Automate the collection of insights from third-party sites;
• Translate performance data into actionable insights;
• Generate analysis of match data tied to the league's Stats Perform and Spiideo partnerships;
• Support the wider Technology and Data Strategy department.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's or master's in a related field and able to receive college credit for the internship;
• Strong Microsoft Office skills;
• Familiarity with event-level performance data (e.g. Opta, Hudl), Tableau, and SQL or another programming language;
• Organised, detail-oriented and a strong team player.
