Sponsored Research Accountant – Finance Division

About the role

Carnegie Mellon University’s Finance Division supports the university’s mission by providing financial management, enterprise planning, and stewardship. The Sponsored Research Accountant will assist in financial decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
• Control financial resources and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
• Provide administrative and fiscal support for post-award sponsored projects.
• Manage financial reporting deadlines for sponsored projects.
• Interpret sponsor regulations and institutional policies and procedures.
• Adapt to a dynamic work environment and interact with a diverse range of internal and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience required.
• A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This position operates on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in-office presence two days a week.
