About the role
Carnegie Mellon University’s Finance Division supports the university’s mission by providing financial management, enterprise planning, and stewardship. The Sponsored Research Accountant will assist in financial decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
- Control financial resources and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Provide administrative and fiscal support for post-award sponsored projects.
- Manage financial reporting deadlines for sponsored projects.
- Interpret sponsor regulations and institutional policies and procedures.
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment and interact with a diverse range of internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience required.
- A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
