Sponsored Projects Accounting
The University of Pittsburgh is searching for a highly motivated Sponsored Projects Accountant to join the Sponsored Projects Accounting department (SPA).
Essential Functions
- Serves as the financial intermediary between the sponsoring agencies and the University Principal Investigator/Project Director.
- Activates new awards in the Oracle financial system environment.
- Performs ongoing maintenance for amendments, renewals, extensions, and other modifications.
- Prepares and submits periodic reimbursement claims and financial reports.
- Maintains oversight of project progress throughout the full life cycle of each project.
- Handles the financial close-out process for completed projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field is preferred.
- Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
Skills
- An organized and detail-oriented individual.
- Able to work independently and utilize automated accounting systems, Excel, and other databases.
