About the role
August Schell is seeking a Splunk Cleared Engineer to support complex deployments of Splunk technology to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Splunk, Unix, Windows, and experience in technical consulting.
Responsibilities
- Drive complex deployments of Splunk while working side-by-side with our customers.
- Solve unique challenges across a variety of use cases.
- Collaborate across customer organizations to identify limiting parameters and determine the best way to overcome environmental challenges.
- Leverage your experience and share best practices to develop innovative solutions for maximum user adoption, product value, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Active Secret level security clearance (or higher).
- Experience in technical consulting.
- Experience in both Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface.
- Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications (especially in the areas of security and finance).
- Willing to travel 50%-75% (primarily US travel).
- Valid U.S. Drivers License (required).
- Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and apply to customers use cases.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with technical and non-technical professionals of all levels; from IT administrators to executive stakeholders.
- Be self-motivated and self-educating; as well as able to work well on a team.
- High level of organization with a healthy sense of urgency, ability to prioritize, communicate clearly and effectively, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities.
- Excellent Troubleshooting Skills. Ability to successfully resolve issues in a timely and systematic method.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance or other relevant field.
- Strong knowledge/experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS), Windows Server (2008R2 and greater), Shell Scripting (Bash, PowerShell), and Splunk Enterprise.
- Splunk Consultant Certification and/or other Splunk Premium Accreditations.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $160,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and market alignment. This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek.
