About the role
Be a part of our mission to deliver reliable energy and superior customer service. The individual will perform duties as required indoors and outdoors, at times under adverse weather conditions, for extended periods. Responsibilities include using mechanical skills to assist operations with material, hand tools, and equipment pertinent to the installation and maintenance of cables and the underground system. During periods of trouble call assignment, the individual must be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties indoors and outdoors, including under adverse weather conditions.
- Use mechanical skills to assist with installation and maintenance of cables and underground systems.
- Respond to trouble calls, available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour.
- Work emergency and planned overtime as needed.
- Complete requirements of Splicer T.M.P. Training Merit Progression to qualify as a Splicer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) and physical agility assessment.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain and/or maintain a valid CDL within six months (CDL-A preferred).
- Mechanical/technical experience required; splicing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated safe work habits.
- Must be available for emergency response assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
Pay
The salary range for this position starts at $35.33 per hour and progresses in accordance with the union contract.
