About the Role
The Spiritual Care Counselor / Chaplain provides spiritual support to hospice patients and their families, facilitating grief and bereavement processes, and serving as a liaison to faith communities.
Responsibilities
- Assess and address patients' spiritual needs
- Support families through anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement
- Collaborate with faith communities and spiritual caregivers
- Build relationships to empower patients' spiritual journeys
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Ordination or credentialing per recognized religious organization
- Completion of three ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units
- Experience or education in grief and loss counseling
- Inter-faith competence and cultural sensitivity
- Minimum one-year supervised experience in medical, educational, or religious settings
