Responsibilities
- Prepare up to 60-minute speeches for USSTRATCOM Senior Leadership, including conducting research of the event and determining background information on location, attendees, and focus of event
- Provide an abstract, an outline, and background information for senior leader review and comment
- Interview senior leader for direction of speech prior to event
- Prepare and draft articles that will be published in local, national (including federal), or international periodicals such as professional journals, newspapers, magazines, or newsletters
- Prepare remarks, talking points, and toasts for USSTRATCOM Senior Leadership, 5-10 minutes in length
- Maintain an indexed archive file of all written speeches, articles, remarks, talking points, toasts, abstracts, and reference material and coordinate their public release with USSTRATCOM Public Affairs Office staff
Requirements
- Required at minimum a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, journalism, communications, history, or political science
- At least six (6) years' experience
- Active Secret Clearance
Qualifications
- Desired: ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in speechwriting expertise at a senior level (elected officials, corporate leaders, General / Flag officers, appointed national leaders)
Skills
Desired skills include strong writing abilities, knowledge of current events, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Schedule
On-Site: Full-time on-site position works Monday through Friday, 7:30AM CT to 4:30PM CT at Offutt Air Force Base
