Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team at Continental Springs. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing speech-language pathology and audiology services for our residents. Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services
- Evaluates and reports key performance indicator outcomes of the speech language pathology and audiology department
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with residents, employees, and family members
- Complies with facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
- Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication among staff members
- Identifies and collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team, physicians, and consultants to identify opportunities for enhanced services
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted license in the state of Nebraska
- Maintain educational requirements of licensure
- Valid driver's license in the state of Nebraska
- Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
Physical and Working Conditions
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform overhead lifting and other common physical movements
- Exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which include AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis
- Subject to exposure to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors, or personnel
- May be required to work beyond normal working hours, including weekends and holidays
Compliance and Performance Appraisal
- Agreement to abide by all standards, policies, and procedures of Continental Springs is a condition of employment
- Compliance will be evaluated through regular performance appraisals
