Responsibilities

• Develop and implement speech pathology services and direct patient care in coordination with the rehabilitation team and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Initiate care for patients upon referral and provide and/or manage all aspects of speech pathology intervention.
• Complete required documentation as per departmental policy.
• Participate in clinics, rounds, and patient conferences, as assigned and as patient care responsibilities allow.
• Attend and contribute to patient care conferences, as listed above, to provide continuity of care.
• Facilitate the conference process, improve communication, or increase effectiveness and efficiency of the conference as a member of the team.
• Manage a full patient caseload, including all aspects of patient care, documentation, and communication requirements, and assist in meeting departmental efficiency requirements.
• Demonstrate commitment to the profession as evidenced by membership in the American Speech and Hearing Association.
• Attend one professional meeting per year.
• Provide coverage at least one weekend per month.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Communication Disorders satisfying American Speech and Hearing Association academic and practicum requirements for Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and successful completion of clinical training.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in an acute hospital setting.

Licenses/Certifications

• Speech Language Pathologist - SLP (CA DCA) Current California license.
• Cert Clinical Comp in Speech Language Pathology - CCCSLP (ASHA) Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City).

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $46.00 - $76.07.
