Speech Therapist - PT
About the role
This position organizes and conducts medically prescribed speech/language or swallowing evaluations and rehab programs to guide individuals in improving their quality of life following injury, diseases or loss of a body part with consideration to patients gender, age, cultural differences, and educational needs. Evaluates patient utilizing appropriate testing procedures to establish scope of dysfunction. Plans a restorative treatment program based on objective data gathered and as prescribed by physician. Records initial evaluation and progress reports per departmental policy. Cooperates and coordinates efforts with health care team to provide efficient and effective care for all patients. Conducts or participates in educating medical staff & health professionals in speech/language techniques and objectives. Adopts conventional techniques to meet the needs of patients with learning disabilities. Assists in the preparation of requisitions for supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a professional course of education of speech, hearing science, and language development culminating in a minimum of a master's degree.
- Valid Montana state license or equivalent in Speech/Language Pathology services.
- Certification by the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association (CCC).
- Ambient personality, ability to make sound judgments and the ability to maintain an empathetic and understanding attitude towards patients.
- Able to successfully pass Background Check and Drug Screen.
