About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for performing comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and/or language, as ordered by physicians. You will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatments, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • You will complete video flouroscopic swallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner
  • You will develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians
  • You will treat patients in accordance with Speech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice
  • You will perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately and communicate results timely to all appropriate members of the healthcare team
  • You will formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with Patient, Staff, Physicians, Community
  • Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • Current SLP license in state of Tennessee
  • AHA BLS certification within 30 days of employment
