About the Role

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Speech Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments, establishes appropriate treatment goals, and serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient's speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
• Administer objective tests to assess patient's communication assets and liabilities.
• Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
• Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
• Document progress in patient's chart.
• Complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
• Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Masters Degree Speech Therapist, or Speech Pathologist
