Speech Therapist (Per Diem)

Essential Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and their families regarding speech and language disorders.
• Administers speech therapy programs using specialized techniques and equipment.
• Identifies and recommends communication devices and aids as needed.
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Attends case conferences and inservices to contribute to comprehensive care planning.
• Documents patient progress and submits notes according to organizational policies.

Education And Work Experience

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Required: CPR Certification.
• Required: ASHA certification of clinical competence in speech language pathology.
• 1+ Years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Ability

• Ability to listen to and monitor patient speech patterns to develop effective treatment plans.
• Strong time management, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, sitting, talking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and operating various equipment.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs.
• Operating computers and other equipment.
• Recognizing features and observing areas up to 20 feet away.
• Observing an area up to 20 feet away to the right or left while looking straight ahead.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $38.74 - $54.51 per hour.
• Reasonable Pay Estimate: Based on job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal/external equity considerations.
