Speech Therapist - Clinical Fellow (CF)

About the role

This position involves providing speech-language pathology services to patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapy implementation. The SLP-CF will complete a minimum of 36 weeks of Clinical Fellowship under supervision, adhering to licensure and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete Clinical Fellowship with supervision and mentorship from licensed, ASHA-certified SLPs.
• Maintain communication with supervisors regarding licensure and fellowship progress.
• Participate in patient care, team conferences, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Develop and adapt individualized treatment plans addressing cognitive-communication, swallowing, speech, and language disorders.
• Order supplies, maintain equipment, and promote a safe environment.
• Evaluate patients through history, tests, and observations; establish diagnoses and treatment goals.
• Use therapeutic techniques for communication, swallowing, and related impairments, and coordinate adaptive device use.
• Refer patients for further assessment when needed and instruct them in therapeutic activities.
• Perform routine reexaminations and documentation; modify treatment plans as necessary.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field approved by ASHA.
• Valid licensure, certification, or credentialing as required by the state.
