Speech Therapist-Clin Fellow

Responsibilities

• Completes a minimum of 36 weeks Clinical Fellowship under supervision.
• Completes all requirements for provisional licensure if applicable and practices within state licensure requirements.
• Communicates status of Clinical Fellowship and licensure to supervisor and Director of Rehab.
• Does not supervise students during Clinical Fellowship.
• Maintains productivity standards for the rehab gym.
• Attends and contributes to patient care and related meetings.
• Refers patients to other disciplines and agencies.
• Selects and consults with other rehabilitation team members for appropriate therapeutic regimens.
• Adapts and modifies treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Promotes a safe environment and enforces safety protocols.
• Orders and maintains equipment.
• Screens, examines, and evaluates patients, establishing diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Develops and implements treatment goals with patients and caregivers.
• Coordinates the acquisition and instruction of adaptive communication devices.
• Facilitates identification and management of hearing deficits.
• Selects and instructs patients in appropriate therapeutic activities.
• Evaluates patient progress and behavior.
• Performs routine reexaminations as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a similar field.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed in the state of practice.
