Speech Therapist-Clin Fellow

Responsibilities

1. Completes a minimum of 36 weeks Clinical Fellowship under supervision.
2. Communicates status of Clinical Fellowship and licensure to supervisor and Director of Rehab.
3. Maintains productivity standards for the rehab gym.
4. Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences, and other meetings.
5. Refers to other disciplines and agencies to address patient needs.
6. Selects and implements appropriate therapeutic regimens based on patient needs.
7. Adapts and modifies treatment plans as needed.
8. Promotes a safe environment and enforces safety protocols.
9. Orders and maintains equipment.
10. Screens, examines, and evaluates patients.
11. Develops and implements treatment goals collaboratively with patients and caregivers.
12. Documents and records patient care services.
13. Applies therapeutic techniques in various areas of speech-language pathology.
14. Selects and instructs patients in the use of adaptive communication devices.
15. Identifies and refers patients for hearing assessments and rehabilitation.
16. Selects and instructs patients in appropriate therapeutic activities.
17. Evaluates patient progress and behavior.
18. Performs routine reexaminations as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a similar field.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed in the state of practice (ASHA certification may be required).
