About the role
The Speech Therapist (ST) at The Center at Tucson assesses and evaluates patients who would benefit from skilled speech therapy services and develops an appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards.
Responsibilities
- Effectively screen/evaluate patients with possible communication, cognitive or swallowing disorders and develops appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements
- Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness
- Provide comprehensive discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements
- Work closely with patients, family members and other care team members to adequately plan for patient needs, to include short term and long term goals
Requirements
- Must possess a current and valid fingerprint clearance card (FPCC)
- Must possess a current and valid Speech Therapist license
- Must possess a current and valid CPR certification
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
- 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred
Qualifications
- Education, licensure, certifications, and experience
- Must possess a current and valid fingerprint clearance card (FPCC)
- Must possess a current and valid Speech Therapist license
- Must possess a current and valid CPR certification
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
- 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to tactfully work with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements, and ability to maintain highly confidential information

Full time $45-55/hour, PRN $55/hour, dependent on experience
