Speech Therapist
About the role
The Speech Therapist evaluates and treats residents and patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines. You will plan and administer medically prescribed speech therapy treatment for patients with speech, language, and swallowing problems. You will evaluate speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors. You will review referral, physician’s orders, patient’s condition, and medical records to determine speech therapy treatment indicated. You will accept physician orders regarding speech therapy services. You will perform initial patient evaluations before initiating therapy. You will perform and document OASIS assessments at appropriate time points. You will plan and prepare written treatment plans based on evaluation of patient data in conjunction with the physician, patient, and caregiver(s). You will plan direct or conduct rehabilitative treatment plans to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and non-organic etiology. Other duties as requested.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of speech pathology and language disorders.
- Licensed as a speech-language pathologist by the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or the Accrediting Body.
