Job Overview
As Speech Therapist with Personal Touch Home Care, you'll be responsible for evaluating and treating individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders, helping them improve their communication skills and quality of life. You will also provide rehabilitative services to patients who are unable to travel to a clinic or hospital. This is focused on improving patients' quality of life by promoting mobility, function, and independence within the comfort and convenience of their own homes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
- Provide therapy to individuals of all ages, addressing issues such as articulation, fluency, voice, and language
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about communication strategies and home exercises
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech therapy
Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited Speech Therapist college or university
- Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice
- Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills
- Prefers two (2) years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapist. Home health experience is preferred
