Speech Therapist

Responsibilities

• Congduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and communication abilities in children with autism.
• Create accurate diagnoses and develop tailored therapy plans based on assessment results and client needs.
• Design and implement individualized therapy programs using evidence-based techniques and strategies to address specific communication challenges.
• Work closely with families to educate them about their child’s communication needs and provide guidance on home-based activities to reinforce therapy goals.
• Maintain open and supportive communication with parents and caregivers.
• Regularly evaluate and document each child’s progress toward therapy goals and adjust therapy plans as needed based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, behavioral therapists, and educators, to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development.
• Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech therapy and autism spectrum disorders and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Proven experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders.
• Experience in a clinical, school, or home-based setting is preferred.
