About the role

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate patients regarding the application of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders. You will function as an interdisciplinary team member, providing patient assessment, direct care, and individualized care planning and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs for speech therapy in a timely fashion; complete initial evaluation in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Document patient care efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and maintain long- and short-term treatment goals that are functional and measurable for each patient.
• Re-evaluate and modify treatment programs as warranted.
• Instruct patients, families, nurses, and other caregivers in appropriate diet consistencies, swallowing strategies, cognitive strategies, and communication techniques.
• Integrate information, prioritize needs, and involve patient/family in the planning process.
• Utilize the most appropriate form of treatment provided with the highest level of care.
• Perform other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's Degree from an Accredited Program in Speech Language Pathology.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Acute care modified swallow experience.
• Current Licensure in the State of Arizona.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or documented acceptance into a Clinical Fellowship year.
• CPR certification.
