Speech Teacher (Leave Replacement) – Special Education

About the role

A leave-replacement Speech Teacher position within the Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language re-evaluations for special education students
• Deliver individual and group speech services as mandated by student IEPs
• Maintain accurate records, speech session notes, and Medicaid-related documents
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and component school districts

Requirements

• NYSED Certification – Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of Speech and Language Disabilities
• NYS Speech-Language Pathology License and Certificate of Clinical Competence (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) preferred
• Experience working with children and adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
