Special Education Teacher - Leave Replacement
Qualifications
Valid NJDOE Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification required. Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices, student supports, curriculum, assessment, and classroom management. Ability to develop and implement appropriate lesson plans, programs, services, and supports aligned with student needs and applicable standards. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, administration, and related service providers. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP implementation, student intervention supports, and/or related services preferred, as applicable to the position. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, administration, and the school community.

Type of Sub
Per Diem: $125 per day
Long-term sub less than 6 months: $250 per day
Long-term sub 6 months or longer: $345 per day
The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System. Step 1 BA Benefits the first of the month after 30 days of service.
Pay

Schedule
- The position is not eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends for extracurricular activities, coaching, or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
- In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1:1, time accrued in a leave replacement position does not count towards tenure.
