About the role

Provide assessment and treatment for communication and swallowing disorders in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Lumberton, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Treat patients using evidence-based practices to improve their communication and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and physical therapists to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Modify treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback.
  • Document patient progress and treatment sessions accurately and timely.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
  • Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Active New Jersey state license or ability to obtain prior to assignment start.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Experience working in skilled nursing facility settings preferred.
  • Experience with dysphagia management, modified barium swallow interpretation, and treatment planning preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New Jersey.
  • Must have a current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience in skilled nursing facility settings.
  • Preferred experience with dysphagia management, modified barium swallow interpretation, and treatment planning.
