Speech Language Pathologist - Therapy Acute

This role involves evaluating and treating patients of all ages as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students. Key Responsibilities Include Collecting case history and integrating information from patients, families, caregivers, and professionals.Conducting speech and language assessments using appropriate procedures and materials.Developing and implementing individualized care plans with measurable goals.Interpreting assessment data to recommend effective interventions.Utilizing standardized outcome measures and documenting in compliance with standards.Collaborating with patients and families, providing education and training.Communicating patient progress and recommendations to the medical team. Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field, valid Illinois SLP license or temporary licensure, and BLS certification within 30 days. Completion of continuing education on acute stroke care is required. Skills and qualities: Strong assessment, intervention planning, communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on culturally and linguistically appropriate care.
