Role Overview
Evaluates and treats patients of all ages in speech and language pathology, serving as a professional role model and clinical resource for staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts assessments, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and utilizes appropriate evaluation tools.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure effective intervention, monitors progress, and modifies approaches as needed.
- Provides education and family training, documents all activities per standards, and communicates patient status and recommendations clearly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master's degree in a related field
- Valid SLP license or temporary license in Illinois
- BLS certification
- Must complete continuing education on stroke care
- Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills are essential
