About the role
The primary purpose of the position is providing and directly speech therapy services to patients which may include adult and/or geriatric persons. The goal of helping them reach their maximum performance potential within a medical model of practice shall occur.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech therapy services to patients in a skilled nursing facility setting.
- Assess and evaluate patients' speech and language abilities.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Document progress and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to all professional and legal standards of practice.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Michigan.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or related healthcare setting preferred.
