Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Per Diem

About the role

Select Specialty Hospital - Durham is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically ill patients. Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a central role in offering compassionate, high-quality care throughout the recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Takes initiative, responsibility, and action every day to address the physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of patients.
• Evaluates and treats patients' communication skills and/or swallowing function to maximize their potential.
• Maintains an inventory of supplies and collaborates with other therapy staff to ensure quality service delivery.
• Participates in peer reviews and performance appraisals, and assists in developing the SLP role in various programs and services.
• Maintains an adequate supply of supplies and shares professional knowledge and experiences with colleagues.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Desire to work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Experience in evaluating and treating communication skills and/or swallowing function.
• Willingness to share professional knowledge and experiences.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation therapies and patient care protocols.

Pay

$50 per hour

Schedule

Per Diem / PRN - As Needed; Week Day Coverage
