Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Responsibilities

• Serve students with various communication, feeding, and/or developmental challenges, ranging in age from 3-21 years old
• Implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors, as mandated in the student's Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Consult with other professionals (Teachers, OT, PT, PCP, etc.) on the student's treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team
• Assess and document each student's progress through formal and informal tests and measurements
• Write and prepare annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements, in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines
• Attend all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student
• Provide screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled school-based speech language pathology intervention relative to the client's level of function within the school environment, including but not limited to: expressive and receptive language skills, feeding, and overall communication and/or need for augmentative communication devices

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow in select markets
• Licensed, certified or credentialed as required in the state of practice
• CPR certification required
• Hold an ISBE Professional Educator License
• Clinical experience with the pediatric population preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Effective leadership and client relationship skills
• Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems
• Maintain professional attitudes and respect for the school and their staff
• Treat all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect
• Effective organizational skills to manage high volume caseloads

Pay

USD $52.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
