About the Role

Powerback Pediatrics provides high-quality, compassionate, and effective therapy services directly within the school environment throughout the Greater Chicago area.

Responsibilities

  • Serve students with various communication, feeding, and/or developmental challenges, ranging in age from 3-21 years old.
  • Implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors, as mandated in the student's Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Consult with other professionals (Teachers, OT, PT, PCP, etc.) on the student's treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team.
  • Assess and document each student's progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
  • Write and prepare annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements, in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines.
  • Attend all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student.
  • Provide screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled school-based speech language pathology intervention relative to the client's level of function within the school environment. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas: expressive and receptive language skills, feeding, and overall communication and/or need for augmentative communication devices.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow in select markets.
  • Licensed, certified, or credentialed as required in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ISBE Professional Educator License required.
  • Clinical experience with the pediatric population preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective leadership and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Maintains professional attitudes and respect for the school and their staff.
  • Treats all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage high volume caseloads.

Pay

USD $52.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.

Bonus

USD $3,000.00
