Speech Language Pathologist / SLP

Flagstar Rehab is staffing Speech Language Pathologists for the Rehab Department in state-of-the-art skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) throughout NYC and surrounding areas. SLPs work with a diverse, multidisciplinary team to perform evaluations, treatments, and patient/family education to improve speech and swallow capabilities and enhance daily functioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient speech or swallow evaluations and/or screens of patients
• Develop, downgrade, or upgrade plan of care as appropriate, including meal texture management
• Deliver quality therapy services to individuals in an SNF setting with diagnoses such as TBI, CVA, stroke, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, cancer, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating conditions
• Monitor and document patient progress using innovative EMR software

Requirements

• Current NYS SLP License and Registration
• Clinical Competence Certification (CCC)
• CPR Certificate
• EMR competence
• Meets all state and federal requirements for employment in a nursing facility
• Malpractice/liability insurance (if applicable)

Not accepting Clinical Fellows (CFY) at this time.

Employment Options

• Direct employment with Flagstar Rehab (W-2) at $46/hour
• Independent contractor (1099) at $57/hour; assistance with corporation setup available at no charge
