About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to elementary school students in Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech, language, voice, and fluency evaluations for elementary students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services in accordance with IEP goals.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to educational planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and therapy records.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and parents.
- Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
- Educate families and school staff on strategies to support communication development.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Active Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist Certification/License required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship if applicable.
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education processes.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary educational environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an elementary school setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with evidence-based speech and language intervention strategies is preferred.
- Experience with a variety of communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic language is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential.
- Experience using electronic documentation and school-based data management systems is preferred.
