About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to elementary school students in Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech, language, voice, and fluency evaluations for elementary students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to educational planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and therapy records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and parents.
  • Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
  • Educate families and school staff on strategies to support communication development.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Active Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist Certification/License required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship if applicable.
  • Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education processes.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary educational environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an elementary school setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based speech and language intervention strategies is preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic language is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential.
  • Experience using electronic documentation and school-based data management systems is preferred.
