About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform student evaluations
  • Provide and document therapy services
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluations
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Adhere to professional standards of practice

Requirements

  • Licensure in the state of assignment required (Active SLP)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred but not required)
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant professional standards and state/contract requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Qualifications

  • Experience in school-based speech-language pathology
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of speech and language disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for working with children and adolescents

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
