Speech Language Pathologist - Schools
About the role
The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.
Responsibilities
- Perform student evaluations
- Provide and document therapy services
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluations
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
- Document therapy sessions and progress reports
- Adhere to professional standards of practice and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Licensure in the state of assignment required (Active SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred but not required)
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- Current TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Maintain compliance with all relevant professional standards and regulations
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
Skills
- Strong clinical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
