About the role
The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.
Responsibilities
- Perform student evaluations
- Provide and document therapy services
- Develop and follow the plan of care for each student
- Adhere to physician's orders
Requirements
- Licensure in the state of assignment as an Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), preferred but not required
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification, if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable
- Current Health certificate, per contract or state regulation
- Mandatory to meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Aged 18 years or older
Qualifications
- Education in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and practices
- Ability to assess and treat speech and language disorders
- Proficiency in using assessment tools and techniques
- Effective communication and documentation skills
