About the role
The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.
Responsibilities
- Perform student evaluations
- Provide and document therapy services
- Develop and follow the plan of care for each student
- Comply with physician's orders
Requirements
- Licensure in the state of assignment as an active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Maintain compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
Qualifications
- Education in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience in school-based SLP roles
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and techniques
- Ability to work with children and adolescents
