About the role

This role provides treatment and evaluations of residents with speech, language, cognitive, linguistic and swallowing disorders as a result of acquired brain injury. This position also focuses on developing strategies for clients in areas of memory, language expression, speech production, pragmatics, comprehension, problem solving, conflict resolution and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Performs evaluation consisting of patient/client history, and appropriate tests and measures.
  • Evaluation of prognosis and implementation of plan of care to provide interventions.
  • Conduct re-evaluation, modify interventions based on outcomes.
  • Develop and implement discharge plan.

Requirements

  • Completion of a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and one-year experience completed with CCC from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and state licensure is required.
  • Experience in treatment of neurologically related physical disorders in community-based settings is strongly preferred.
  • Competence in writing, planning, organization and documentation, as well as time management skills are required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Qualifications

Education & Requirements: Completion of a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and one-year experience completed with CCC from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and state licensure is required.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in computer software.
