Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for performing comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and/or language, as ordered by physicians. You will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatments, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.
What you will do in this role
- You will complete video flouroscopic swallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner
- You will develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians
- You will treat patients in accordance with Speech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice
- You will perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately and communicate results timely to all appropriate members of the healthcare team
- You will formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate
Qualifications
- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with Patient, Staff, Physicians, Community
- Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
- Current SLP license in state of KY
- AHA BLS certification within 30 days of employment
