About the Role

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, reevaluation, discharge planning, and documentation. They collaborate with healthcare teams, participate in program development, and assist in meeting patient care goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, and communicate findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
  • Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, monitor patient progress, and modify plans as needed, consulting with professionals when necessary.
  • Complete discharge planning, document care activities accurately, and ensure clear communication of patient progress and goals.
  • Manage time effectively to meet productivity standards, demonstrate flexibility, and provide empathetic patient care.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with orientation and mentoring of staff and students.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of clinical fellowship year (CFY).
  • Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia, as required.
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence.
