Speech Language Pathologist | Plaza Peds Speech Outpatient

About the role

Provides services to pediatric patients, from newborn to adolescent, to prevent, assess, alleviate, or correct communication, swallowing, or other speech-related disorders. Evaluates patient needs, conducts diagnostic tests and procedures, establishes treatment plans, and provides treatments and services accordingly. Works with individuals using current technologies and treatment techniques consistent with department and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsible for independent therapist functions and delegated therapies, which may be performed in collaboration with other healthcare team members or delegated to the patient or informal caregivers residing with the patient. Develops and implements specialized treatment programs in cooperation with other health professionals to meet patient needs. Serves patients of all ages and supports patient safety practices. Demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients, their families, and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited university (new or upcoming graduates welcome)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current State of Minnesota Registration as a Speech Language Pathologist (to include a CFY Temporary License if applicable)
• Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCCs) from ASHA or certification upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year
• Specific clinical training in areas such as dysphagia and neurogenic disorders treatment desired

Schedule

Full-time, 80 hours per two weeks, onsite. Clinic hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30 AM–6:00 PM and Friday 7:30 AM–4:30 PM. No weekends or holidays.

Pay

Starting pay begins at $81,037.49 per year and increases with experience. Salary range: $77,563.20–$116,334.40 per year (based on a 1.0 FTE; reduced FTE will result in a prorated rate).

Up to $20,000 in hiring incentives, including:

• Student loan repayment program of up to $15,000
• Hiring bonus of up to $10,000
• $5,000 in relocation assistance for eligible candidates

Eligibility for hiring bonus: Must be an external candidate hired into an eligible full-time or part-time benefited position. Previous CentraCare employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare in the last 9 months.

Relocation assistance requirements: Must accept a position that offers benefits, have not worked for CentraCare in the last 9 months, currently reside more than 50 miles away from Waite Park, and relocate within 30 miles of Waite Park.
