Speech Language Pathologist -Pediatrics

About the role

As a Speech Language Therapist, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized treatment programs designed to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation and treatment planning: Consistently identify patients' subjective and objective limitations; incorporate age and disability appropriate assessment tools and procedures; develop specific, effective, and individualized therapeutic programs with measurable long and short-term goals, including projected timeframes for achievement; maximize patient and caregiver participation in goal-setting and discharge planning; coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members.
• Treatment implementation: Utilize age-appropriate treatment skills aligned with level of experience; perform modalities and procedures in compliance with established professional standards; apply a variety of techniques tailored to each patient's unique needs; ensure treatment progression aligns with established goals; demonstrate clinical reasoning and judgment to support the treatment plan; regularly update and revise treatment plans to address new problems, changes in patient status, or functional limitations; actively involve patients and caregivers in treatment to promote functional outcomes; provide education and opportunities for functional carryover through home exercise programs.
• Documentation: Produce legible, accurate, timely, and concise documentation including medical records, letters to physicians, communication with payors/vendors, daily flow sheets, and progress notes.
• Patient/family education: Tailor education to meet the age and educational level of patients and families; recognize and respect patient and family belief systems; design educational programs that align with realistic patient and family goals; provide written and verbal home education materials to patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Education: As required by licensure.
• Licensure: Current applicable state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) required; Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech and Hearing Association required or in the process of obtaining through their Clinical Fellowship Year; Certificate of Clinical Competence only required upon initial hire in the Legacy System or demonstrate evidence of past Certificate of Clinical Competence; BLS for Providers certification from the American Heart Association required.

• Exceptional verbal and written skills.
• Demonstrates competency, as appropriate to the ages of patients served, in the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs; a knowledge of normal growth and development; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
• Must have excellent organizational skills to facilitate program development.
• Computer skills.

Pay

USD $48.69 - USD $69.65 /Hr.
