About the role

The UVMMC Speech-Language Pathology team provides services to patients across the acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. Essential members of the multi-disciplinary team, they work with pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of needs, including impairments in speech, language, communication, and swallowing. Our team members provide evaluation and treatment as well as education and counseling to patients, families, and other care providers. Additionally, Speech-Language Pathologists are involved in consultative services within the organization and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing impairments.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and other care providers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct consultative services within the organization and the community.
  • Participate in professional growth and development activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an Accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Clinical certification (CCC's) or eligible to receive CCC's from ASHA.
  • Licensed to practice speech-language pathology in the State of Vermont.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with pediatric or adult patients.
  • Experience in the medical setting or interest in transitioning into a role within this setting.
