Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language disorders in clients
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans to address speech and language needs
- Provide individualized therapy sessions to improve communication skills and swallowing abilities
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists and nurses, to provide holistic care for clients
- Monitor and document progress and outcomes of therapy sessions
- Educate clients and their families on strategies to enhance communication and maintain progress
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of speech and language pathology and implement evidence-based practices in therapy sessions
Requirements
- Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current license in Michigan as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a home health care setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and their treatment methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient in conducting assessments and developing customized treatment plans
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to speech therapy
